Your Participation is Urgently Needed

3M Littmann™ Stethoscopes is providing a $50,000 grant to the Foundation of NSNA. Double the impact!

It's no secret that college is expensive. Between tuition, textbooks, and everyday living expenses, it adds up quickly. For too many nursing students, the cost of a good education is a barrier to getting through school, and those of us who do get through end up with significant student loans, some of which take decades to fully repay.

That's why we're here to help. Since 1969, the Foundation of the National Student Nurses' Association has provided scholarships to help nursing students achieve their dreams to serve others and save lives.

A grant of $50,000 from 3M™ Littmann® Stethoscopes has been promised to FNSNA to support scholarships, but we need to raise $50,000 on our own to match the grant. That's why we're asking all state student nurses' associations to rally their members, faculty, family, and friends to enter the Meet the Match Challenge.

FNSNA will award one valuable prize:

The FNSNA will pay for 5 nights (room and tax only) at an NSNA convention hotel to a state association that raises the most funding for the match campaign. To be considered for the prize the state association must raise a minimum of $1,000.00 by March 22, 2019. All participating state associations will also be recognized at the 67th Annual NSNA Convention in Salt Lake City, Utah, April 3-7,2019.

As we are now, we face a serious nursing shortage. The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects the need for 649,100 replacement nurses in the workforce bringing the total number of job openings for nurses due to growth and replacements to 1.09 million by 2024. The impact is clear. When there aren't enough nurses, patient ratios go up, overtime becomes mandated, and patient safety is jeopardized as a direct result. We're asking for your help. Help us send more students to school and more nurses to the workforce. Help us make units safer and patient experiences better. Help us secure the future of nursing. It's in our hands!
